







In August, 2008, more than a dozen organizations submitted a request to the NC Utilities Commission to open up a new docket to establish “NC SAVE$”, a third party administered energy efficiency program for North Carolina.
In November of 2008, The NCUC determined that it did not have the authority to create an independent efficiency administrator.
In April of 2009, the proposal for NC SAVE$ ENERGY was filed, it is now House Bill 1050. We have three strong prime sponsors: Rep. Joe Tolson, Rep. Rick Glazier, and Rep. Pricey Harrison. (Click here to see a full list of co-sponsors.)The legislation has broad support from grassroots organizations.
